If You Are Using A Pc With Windows Vista Operating System, Has Your Experience Been Positive Or Negative?
Posted on February 25th, 2010 6 commentsI purchased a new laptop computer with the Windows Vista operating system. Unfortunately I have had an issue with the driver for the DVD Rom becoming “corrupted” (error 39). The manufacturer’s technical support had me use the recovery disk to reinstall the operating system. Of course I could not back up any files because the DVD Rom could not be used. After a couple of weeks I ran up against the same issue again.
I plan to install the Window XP operating system, until Microsoft can work out the bugs in the Vista system. What problems have you experienced and what solutions have you have found?
Thanks. -

Is There Any Operating System Whether Linux Or Windows Or Any Other That Runs Directly.?
Posted on February 23rd, 2010 4 commentsWhat I Am Looking For Is A Operating System With Basic Necessities And Does Not Require Installation And Can Run Directly From A Cd OR DVD. Which Means I Can Run The Same Disk On Any Computer Without Needing To Install It, Just By Simply Booting Into It. Is There Any Such OS. I Had Heard That Many Linuxes Could Do So. Any Links OR Useful Info????

How To Recover Data In A Windows Encrypted File/folder ?
Posted on February 23rd, 2010 3 commentsI encrypted a folder in Windows XP. Then I formatted my C:\ but managed to back up its contents. I’ve since restored most of the old C:\ into the new C:\ and have deleted all the folders including the old Windows folder. I’ve only still got the previous Documents & Settings folder still intact.
My problem is this :- I want to decrypt the folder and its contents which I encrypted before formatting my C:\. But it says ‘Access is denied’. I’ve checked Microsoft’s MSDN and they said I need to find my key pair or something like that.
Does anyone know where the key pair is stored when you encrypt a file/folder ? Could it be maybe it’s still in the old Docs & Settings folder ?
I’ve followed the advice in MSDN and tried to create a recovery agent in Group Policy snap-in but it still doesnt work. I’ve even created a user ID similar to the old C:\ hoping to access the folder but to no success.
Does anyone know how I can decrypt the folder and recover my data ? It contains confidential data. -

Someone Formatted My Hard Disk And Reinstalled Windows, Without Saving My Data. Can I Still Recover Them?
Posted on February 14th, 2010 14 commentsAs a “surprise gift”, my assistant formatted my PC and installed windows vista. However, she conveniently forgot that I have (or had) all my works in there, including unfinished ones which are due anytime soon.
Is it possible to recover them (at least 80%)?
I’ve used several recovery software, but didn’t find anything useful, only old files.
Your advice on this?
