How Can I Restore My Computers Operating System Without Losing My Saved Data?
Posted on February 6th, 2010 4 commentsI have a gateway MX3231 Notebook and my operating file is corrupt. I tried calling but they said since my warrenty was up, they couldn’t help me without signing up and paying for something. I have the disk to restore the operating file, but it says it will erase all my saved data. is there anyway I can fix the problem without losing my data? or is there any way for me to get my data removed and backed up on a disk before I put in the disk?

How Will Changing My Current Operating System Effect The Info I Have Already Saved On My Computer????
Posted on February 3rd, 2010 2 commentsHello everyone….i want to change my computer operating system. I currently have “Microsoft 2003 Student Edition” installed on my computer. I want to buy and install “Microsoft XP Professional” on my computer. I need to know two things: 1) When I install XP Professional, will it write over my current operating system (I would like it if it did so that I wouldn’t have any trouble un-installing it)? 2) Will all the data that is currently saved on my computer be safe?
i would greatly appreciate anyone’s help and any additional advise concerning this too… -
Is It Possible To Recover Deleted Text Messages Originally Saved To A Cell Phone Itself (not A Sim Card??
Posted on December 29th, 2009 No commentsI have an LG Choclate 8500 and I would like to retrieve text messages that I inadvertantly deleted. I found a lot of research concerning sim card data recovery, but I have never saved anything to a sim card – only the phone itself. Thanks for reading.

My Friend Deleted Everything From A Text File And Then Saved It. Can The Original Data Be Recovered?
Posted on October 3rd, 2009 5 commentsThe ending file size is zero bytes. I thought maybe the file wouldn’t move so that the data might still be on the drive. I used ‘debug’ to dump the drive contents at the file location but the data was gone. I’ve looked at data recovery software but it looks like it is all geared toward recovering deleted files. One more wrinkle, the computer is in NC and I am in MI so I don’t have direct access to the machine. My friend is computer literate enough that I could walk her through running debug but I’m not sure how much more she will feel comfortable doing. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
