How Can I Repair The Explorer.exe Problem On My Computer Running Windows Xp Operating System?

My system running win xp os was infected by virus and I used anti virus to remove it. Since then each time I boot up my system and I want to browse the Internet the error message will appear “explorer.exe” can not be found etc. what can I do resolve the error?
