Posted on March 1st, 2010 5 commentsRight now my system is running on Windows 98 (i know its old) I am wanting to upgrade at least to 2000. (FOR FREE IF POSSIBLE) If anyone has any information on this (if its possible) please let me know…I would greatly appreciate it.

Free would be illegal. If you want that program you must pay for it. Otherwise download open office, which is free and legal to download.http://www.openoffice.org/

Unfortunately, there are no legal options to obtaining a Windows CD or license without purchasing it. I would strongly recommend purchasing Windows XP or Vista (I prefer XP, but many prefer Vista). It will most likely be well worth the investment. Make sure you have at least the minimum hardware requirements for running the software.

Since Microsoft stopped supporting Win98 about 8 years ago and Win2K about 4 years ago your best bet would be to upgrade your PC to run XP which would keep it more inline with about 68% of PCs around the world.

You can’t upgrade for free and you will have a difficult time finding a new copy of 2000.

It’s no longer sold or supported, but you may be able to find a copy on Ebay.
